Last summer we spent quite some time in New York's Central Park. On the first morning we got up in the wee hours and waited in line to secure tickets to Shakespeare Twelfth Night with Anne Hathaway that night. At around noon we got four tickets and the show that evening in the public theater in New York Central Park was great. The very next morning we met up with our extended family and enjoyed ... If you look at my photography artwork portfolio, you can tell that I like to photograph everything: landscapes, seascapes, flowers, fall foliage, rushing water, mushrooms, close ups, macros, sports ... the list is endless. One area I fell in love with and focused my efforts on over the past years is macro photography. Last week I went back to the local botanical greenhouse at Wellesley College. It is only a 20 to 25 minutes drive from my house and I only discovered it recently. It is a hidden gem and it helps me to stay focused on my flower photography during the frigid New England winter months that otherwise would not be very productive. This time I shared the greenhouse with a garden club on a tour ... Read it all .

I always love when I find a Floral Photography object that I can easily isolate against an attractive background. Some of my last pictures of this kind I found in the beautiful and inspiring Boston Public Garden. I always had this location on my bucket list but never timed it properly. This time I got it right and tulips in all colors were in full bloom. Overnight rain showers drenched the tulips in raindrops and >>> LEARN MORE

During my last photography tour to magical Acadia National Park in Maine on Mount Desert Island I decided to capture Otter Cliff despite bad weather conditions. The sky was very overcast and cloudy; rain was falling. From the park's loop road I pulled into one of the parking lots near Otter Cliff. Parking was a non issue because ... Learn More.

I always wondered about the oil film that can be observed between the pond and the upland when exploring the wildlife sanctuary Hall's Pond in Brookline. I remember when I encountered the oil film the first time I was very worried about some kind of pollution but the opposite is true. From the Hall's Pond brochure I quote: This area is a wooded wetland, where trees grow on mounds of soil and water collects during wet seasons. Peat soil lies under the area and as this material decomposes, ... Learn More.
