Description
Boston historic landmark photography of the Saint Stephen's Church, also known as the New North Church in the Italian Boston North End neighborhood where restaurants, pastries and cafes rule the day. The photo was taken in late September where some New England fall foliage was already changing colors and displaying some color.
Saint Stephen Episcopal Church is a Roman Catholic church located in the heart of the North End, Hanover Street. It is the last remaining church in Boston designed by Charles Bulfinch. The church is made of red brick with white pilasters on the facade and topped by a clock tower and a belfry. The foreground shows the Paul Revere Monument at Paul Revere Mall with an equestrian statue of the famous patriot located just off the touristy Hanover Street. The Paul Revere square or mall is a small brick paved park with a fountain and shady trees. Other than the historic landmark statue one can find tablets on the walls that describe the famous people and places in the history of the North End.
Fun fact: The statue of Revere is one of the most photographed sculptures in Boston and although I arrived early I had trouble keeping the tourists out of the picture.
Good light and happy photo making!
My best,
Juergen
